Local business woman and award-winning inventor, Denise Anstey has rallied 170 volunteer sewing machinists across northern Devon to make urgently needed medical scrubs for healthcare workers. So far Denise and her team have supplied GPs in Bideford and surrounding area plus Nurses, Healthcare workers, Cancer centre and the Hospice. They have even supplied one consignment to Torbay. As of 10th May, across the whole of North Devon and Torridge Districts, the two local authorities had already made 5,065 grant payments between them totalling almost £57m. Both councils are working hard to identify eligible businesses and get the payments out as quickly as possible, but if you have not yet heard anything and believe your business to be eligible, further information (including eligibility criteria and an online application form) is available at:
