BACKGROUND
Torridge District Council was awarded just over £20 million in government funding as part of the Community Regeneration Partnership. The programme supports a diverse portfolio of projects, including business parks, agri-tech innovation, social housing decarbonisation, health and wellbeing hubs, and environmental initiatives.
The strategic ambition is to deliver lasting economic, social, and environmental benefits across the district.
ND+ was commissioned to provide end-to-end project management and ensure Torridge District Council (TDC) remained fully compliant as the accountable body for the Community Regeneration Partnership grant fund. Our team delivered robust project oversight, compliance, and value for money through a comprehensive approach that included:
- Interpreting complex government funding guidance and eligibility rules.
- Collaboratively developing project delivery plans with TDC and stakeholders to determine timescales, outcomes, KPIs, cashflows, funding requirements, and procurement strategies.
- Setting up and managing grant funding agreements, including handling variations and ensuring all documentation met audit standards.
- Designing and managing the claims process for efficient fund drawdown and transparent financial reporting.
- Providing regular, responsive support to TDC and project partners on project queries and technical issues.
- Reporting into and actively participating in both TDC’s Major Projects
- Group and Place Board to ensure effective coordination and governance.
- Offering ongoing advice and guidance on funding rules, eligibility, and compliance.
Impact
Collaborating with ND+ enabled the successful launch and delivery of 12 transformative projects – including business parks, innovation in agri-tech, social housing upgrades, and community health hubs.
Our support allowed Torridge District Council to ensure all projects met government compliance standards and funding requirements. It also provided them with confidence and assurance through transparent processes, robust risk management, and pro-active problem-solving.
Ultimately, ND+ helped to unlock significant investment for the district, supporting long-term regeneration and positive outcomes for both residents and businesses.
