SUPPORT FOR FARMERS

If you’re a farmer in North Devon or Torridge, the Farm BOOST scheme is for you! Specifically to support farmers build resilience and adapt to change, our advisors can offer:

Guidance on compliance, sustainability and future-proofing your farm

Nutrient management support from FACTS-qualified advisors.

These projects are funded by the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.  

*The UK Shared Prosperity Fund is a central pillar of the UK government’s Levelling Up agenda. The wider UKPSF Fund aims to improve pride in place and increase life chances across the UK by investing in communities and place, supporting local business, and providing opportunities to boost people and skills.

CAN YOU HELP ME ACCESS GRANTS OR FINANCIAL FUNDING?

Yes! We can help you identify relevant grants and funding streams and prepare strong applications, complete with business plans, financial forecasts and compliance checks. This service is free and funded until at least 2026.

We can support farmers with RPA funding applications, but due to its complexity, this is a paid service.

BIFFEN’S KITCHEN

Having acquired a taste for ethnic cuisine during the time he worked as a Marketing Manager for a travel company, whilst on a visit to his North Devon family home, George (Biff) Biffen spotted an opportunity to launch a surf-inspired street food van serving a range of dishes from around the world. He secured a permanent site on the Ocean Pitch campsite in Croyde, supplying food to campsite residents as well as passing holidaymakers and locals with his first main season in 2021.

CELEBRANT SUE

Following a rewarding and dedicated career in teaching and headship, Sue started training as a celebrant in September ’22 and proudly launched her new business in the following April. Although her services are available across most of the South West peninsula, she has a special affection for her ‘home patch’ in North Devon.   As an independent celebrant, Sue creates and delivers personalised ceremonies for a wide range of life events – from weddings, funerals, and naming ceremonies to community gatherings and business launches

MAKING SFI SIMPLE

When A.J & C Price first heard about the new SFI scheme – the Sustainable Farming Incentive, an initiative designed to reward farmers for environmentally-friendly practices and replace EU payments post-Brexit – it seemed like a substantial challenge. That’s why they decided to enlist ND+ for a helping hand.

NAVIGATING COMPLEX AGRI SCHEMES

Despite his extensive knowledge, Vincent realized that the evolving agricultural schemes required additional guidance. He sought support under the Future Farming Resilience programme, delivered by the Farm Support Services team at North Devon Plus.

EMPOWERING FARMERS THROUGH DIGI SKILLS

Wendy and Doug Collis are experienced farmers nearing retirement. Their core business focuses on sheep farming and forage production, including hay, haylage, and straw. Doug also undertakes contracting work for neighbouring farms.

DELIVERING THE TORRIDGE CRP

Torridge District Council was awarded just over £20 million in government funding as part of the Community Regeneration Partnership. The programme supports a diverse portfolio of projects, including business parks, agri-tech innovation, social housing decarbonisation, health and wellbeing hubs, and environmental initiatives.
