OUR VISION

The health and pharmaceutical industries are growing in North Devon. With continued investment, we can significantly drive development, attract key talent to live and work here, improve skills throughout the local workforce, and grow the essential sectors – like health and social care, which will be required as our population ages.

Here’s what we’re doing to give this sector the boost it needs!

OUR AIMS

TRANSFORM OPERATIONS

Support business operating models by raising awareness of AI, tech applications and big data analytics, particularly throughout business support services.

IMPROVE KNOWLEDGE

Improve knowledge sharing, creating better links with university partners and wider access to academia – particularly around AI, with a new, dedicated roundtable.

LOCAL PLACE APPEAL

We’re always working to local place appeal, ensuring we retain and increase essential talents like doctors, dentists, as well as experts in more niche research fields.

ADVOCATE FOR THE AREA

We’re supporting our delivery partners in lobbying for the improvement of existing infrastructure, the delivery of new services, and supporting employers with recruitment.

We help you identify opportunities for growth, including accessing essential funding for innovation or to attract talent.

We offer support for healthcare and pharmaceutical project management - from planning and coordination to full delivery.

FACILITATION

We encourage sector growth and facilitate collaboration by connecting businesses with local authorities, industry contacts, research institutions and community groups.

SKILLS & TALENT

We already have a growing healthcare and pharmaceutical sector in the local area, with North Devon District Hospital, which employees almost 3000 local people, numerous care home providers, and major pharmaceutical businesses like Accord and Perigo.

This sector has lots of potential for growth, and ND+ is keen to support this by supporting the local skills agenda.

We’re supporting North Devon College's efforts to bring a new dentistry learning hub to the area.

We encourage engagement and learning from National Catapult centres in High Value Engineering, Cell and Gene Therapy, Medicines Discovery.

NORTHERN DEVON MAKES
